NYSC Director charges Cross River Corps Members On Safety By Chiemeka Adindu
The 2019 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 Corps Members currently undergoing their 3 weeks training at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Obubra, Cross River State have been admonished to pay critical attention to their security ahead of every other thing.
The admonition was contained in an address by the Deputy Director of Procurement, NYSC National Directorate Headquarters Abuja, Mrs Regina Ilubbey during her visit to the Orientation Camp. She reminded the Corps Members of the security situation confronting the country, calling on them to tread cautiously.
Mrs. Ilubbey who is visiting the state for the first time bemoaned the increase of Corps Members’ death in the country. She therefore warned them to avoid whatever that will expose them to danger.
“Your safety should be your top priority and you need to be mindful of the friends you keep. Do not join the band wagon of the society to commit social vices. You must follow the due processes before you embark on any journey”, she beckoned, urging them to always report any emergency situations to security agencies within their neighborhood and their Zonal and Local Government Inspectors who she said serve as their parents.
The Deputy Director further encouraged Corps Members to build on the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship training they are receiving in Camp as it will prepare and make them financially independent in the nearest future. She blessed them and wished them a successful service year ahead.

Addressing Camp Officials, she described the State Coordinator as a man with quality standard, calling on every staff to accord him the necessary support he needs to move the Secretariat to an enviable height. She gave a pass mark to the Camp for being hygienic and stable across all bits of the Camp life.
Presenting Camp situation report, State Coordinator, Eddy Megwa informed the Deputy Director that the Corps Members are already settled and are getting along with the regimented Camp life and have also been fully incorporated into the Camp administration.
He said the entire members of staff are highly resourceful and ready to carry on with their duties even as they prepare for the forth coming 2019 Batch “C” Stream II Orientation Course.

Megwa added that the entire Camp community was elated for her visit which he admitted will boost the morale of both Camp Officials and the Corps Members.
The august visitor had earlier on arrival inspected Camp facilities like the Kitchen, Clinic, Man ‘O’ war gadgets and was entertained by the NYSC Cultural troop under the Committee for social activities.
