The Swiss Government Scholarships for International Students in 2025 are currently accepting applications, providing a fantastic opportunity for students from 180 different countries. Aspiring students are encouraged to complete their education at Switzerland’s finest universities thanks to this scholarship program.
Candidates for Ph.D., Research Fellowships, and Postdoctoral Studies can apply to the Swiss Excellence Program. Students pursuing master’s degrees are also eligible to apply, and there are no costs. For the academic year 2025–2026, these scholarships offer complete financial support, enabling students to devote all of their attention to their studies.
Research Scholarship
Post-graduate researchers in any discipline (a master’s degree is the minimum qualification required) who intend to come to Switzerland to pursue research or further studies at the doctoral or post-doctoral level are eligible for the research scholarship (research fellowship, PhD, Postdoc).
All Swiss cantonal universities, universities of applied sciences, the two federal institutes of technology, and the four research institutes offer research scholarships for study or research. Only those who have been nominated by an academic supervisor at one of these universities for higher education will be taken into consideration.
Art scholarships
Art scholarships are open to art students wishing to pursue an initial arts master’s degree in Switzerland.
Art scholarships are awarded for study at any Swiss conservatory or university of the arts. This scholarship is available to students from a limited number of countries only.

Selection
Applications are subject to preliminary selection by the relevant national authorities and/or the Swiss diplomatic representation. The short-listed applications are then assessed by the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), which takes the final decision.
