The NYSC State Coordinator for Cross river state Commends Host Community, canvasses For More Cooperation

NYSC Cross River State Coordinator, Eddy Megwa has appreciated the efforts of Ogada II Community in Obubra Local Government Area of the state for their efforts in ensuring that peace is maintained within the community during Orientation Programmes.

He gave the appreciation when the community council of chiefs and some youths paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the ongoing 2019 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 Orientation Course to request for improved welfare packages and more support for members of the Camp host community.

“I wish to express my profound gratitude to the members of the community. I am overwhelmed that you thought it wise at your cabinet to extend your concern to us. You have shown mercy, joy and peace to visitors in your land and I pray for the relationship to continue to grow to enviable heights”, the Coordinator who has the Chieftaincy title “Eze Chinyere ugo 1 of Ngor Okpala” in Imo state expressed.

He assured them of his resolve to always include members of the community in the services of the Camp community during Orientation Exercises in order to sustain the existing partnership with the community members. He categorically informed them that the NYSC does not have statutory financial obligation to host communities but to devise means of promoting community relations.

Some of the Chiefs who spoke during interactive session with the camp management, tabled some challenges facing the community, calling on the Coordinator to extend his magnanimity to the community youths. They pleaded for inclusion of more members of the community when engaging menial hands in the camp.
