PRECIOUS-CONCEPTS GRAPHICS

Sharing is caring!

I am a huge fan of creativity and beautiful designs. I love when I ask a graphics designer to design my flier for me and it comes out unique and excellent.

Today we have an excellent graphics designer in the house whose work has birth alot of businesses coming to limelight. Let’s get to meet him.

Welcome to honournaija_blog, please can we meet you??

Thank you ma. I am OLALERE, Ifeoluwa Temitope , a graduate of University of Ilorin. I hail from Kwara state and I currently run my business.

What inspired you to go into this type of business?

This question can best be answered by a story: Immediately after my secondary school education in the years 2013, just as the norms then, every child would be registered for computer training pending the time he/she would secure admission into a higher institution. My case wasn’t different. But the advantage I had was that where I did my computer training was a printing house where we publish journals, textbooks, do graphics design and general printing for weddings, magazines, jotters, and others. So instead of learning computer operation only, I saw it as an additional advantage to learn all other works with it. Although, I never thought such a decision could earn me a lot just like today. This was the situation that inspired me to venture into this type of business.

Quite inspiring. When did you start, for how long now?

Officially, I started my graphic and printing works in the year 2015. That is about 5 years now.

What has been the challenge so far?

One of the challenges faced and which is also peculiar to all other businesses is competition because there is virtually no business that is not stocked. Recently, almost everybody is into graphics and printing. It now depends on how an individual is ready to be dynamic in skills and be flexible in other to take command of the business.
Another greatest challenge I frequently encounter is the cost of printing materials in which customers aren’t ready to understand. What I do when I send out quotations is to inform such clients that the price on the quotation is only valid for two weeks. After two weeks, another quotation would be prepared. This is because the market price of materials to be used is unpredictable.

What keeps pushing you through?

It’s simply my passion for the work. The work entails having a sense of creativity which depends on how far you can identify colours, shapes, images, measurement, and other things attached to it. All these contributed to my passion for it which drives me till date.

Can you say your customers have derived maximum satisfaction thus far?

Often in business, when clients patronize you more than once or refer other customers to you, it’s an indication of satisfaction(s) derived from you in your earlier deals. I can boldly say that I’ve experienced both of these instances.

Where do you see your business in the next 10 years?

In 10 years’ time, I hope to have a leading printing press in the African continent and to employed experts in all departments relating to printing and publishing. Interestingly, printing is a course that can be studied up to the Ph.D level. In Nigeria, the apex we have was a Higher National Diploma (HND) in a few of our polytechnics. But in developed countries, printing technology is studied till the doctorate level. It will be my utmost desire to own a large assembly line of printing machines supervised by experts from the field.

What is your advice for younger ones that would want to go into your kind of business sir??

My advice for anyone interested in this kind of business is to maintain focus, develop passion for anything you love to do, and be eager to learn more skills to improve himself/herself. This would assist you to have an edge over other competitors.

Thanks for having me.
