GOTNI – AMPLIFYING THE SCHOLARS MIND

Sharing is caring!

Cohort 9, 2023

The initial dynamics of the educational system is one that should transform the young mind into taking up responsibilities that will shape them into becoming great leaders.

However, this narrative have caved in and we can see how the educational system is not producing the desired results that is needed. You will want to agree with me that there is no need for educational structures to be in place if the educational system cannot produce visionary leaders. As a scholar or scholarship applicant, in this great piece are vital lessons to learn and incorporate in your academic ecosystem.

On this premise, an efficient man named Dr Linus Okorie dimmed it fit to set the ball rolling by establishing an organization with the name GOTNI that picks interest in shaping and reforming the mind of people into harnessing its potentials towards taking up responsibilities and becoming quality leaders.

WHAT ABOUT GOTNI?

The Founder

Guardians Of The Nations International (GOTNI) is an organization established by Dr Linus Okorie.   https://gotni.africa/team/linus-okorie-5/

The organization is Nigeria’s top center for leadership development, providing thorough training in leadership that is tailored to the demands of the workplace of the twenty-first century.   GOTNi is  changing Africa’s leadership approach via the work of highly qualified and well-respected professors, and they  are developing changed leaders who add value around the globe. The organization is located at No.4 Mike Akhigbe Way, Jabi, Abuja.

Recently, GOTNI in their characteristic way of cultivating the leadership mind of people gave top 40 Creative writers and Researchers scholarship to attend the exquisite Creative Writers and Researchers Leadership Master Class at the leadership center. The program was mind-blowing with excellent topics of discussion accompanied with exotic dishes for the awardees.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROGRAM

CRITICAL THINKING by Mr Olajide Aribisala.

Critical thinking is a science that need to be taught. It goes beyond the normal thinking of humans. One of the striking point from the speaker was “You survive by instincts; you succeed by knowledge”

Author’s Desk

As a scholarship applicant, critical thinking will help you answer the “WH” questions relating to submitting an acing application. You need critical thinking to navigate your research work and studies in graduate schools.

THE LEADERSHIP MIND by Dr Linus Okorie

A leader is someone who is able to change strategy in the middle of a situation. Leadership is effective from the place of PASSION not from the place of POSITION. A leader must maximize the ability to reflect, embrace diversity, observe and question things.

Author’s Desk

Winning a scholarship should trigger the leadership traits in you. In your field, how have you been able to map out strategies on how to manage people’s differences, provide solutions to problems around you. Before applying for a scholarship, there is need to reflect on the requirements, the course and also observe what are the needed skills for your applications.

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION by Mrs Nkiru Linus-Okorie

Communication can only be effective when the aim of passing across the message is properly recognized and achieved. Why do you want to say what you intend to say to the person? What is your objective of engaging in the communication? It is important to know and understand your aim before communicating; this helps to measure your results.

Author’s Desk

Oh, it is not enough to jump at that application and begin to write that essay. Statement of Purpose and other form of essays require you to involve the expository and narrative writing style. More than portraying that you are from a low-income country; the scholarship body wants to see how you can sell yourself and persuade them that you are the best candidate for the program.

GROUP PROJECT

The awardees were grouped into four teams and were asked to work on creating a magazine less than 24hrs. Like the saying goes “you never know until you try” ; the task seemed impossible to accomplish until all the teams swung into action. Each team came up with fascinating magazines that blew the founders mind. You might want to feed your eyes with the magazine covers created by each group.

SOME REVIEWS FROM THE AWARDEES

My GOTNI experience  –  by Nasirudeen

When I first saw the poster of the application process for the leadership master class for researchers and creative writers, I skipped it and didn’t pay much attention to it until a friend personally insisted that I partake in it. The first thing I did was to check them out on their website and I still had the mind that they just over hyped themselves. Telling myself that I had nothing to loose and gave it a shot.
I actually did give it a shot and I was lucky. Just like that I got a fully paid scholarship worth 500,000 Naira. It sounded weird to some how just 2 days class would cost 500,000.
I came I saw and I testify. The 2 days experience was actually worth more than 500,000 naira. It was as if the lectures were specifically meant for me. The program answered all my silent questions and gave me more. I literally can’t find the words to describe how overwhelmed I am with knowledge embedded in me during those 2 days. What I can say for sure is that it would have been one of the greatest mistakes of my life if I had missed. My greatest appreciation to the entire GOTNI family.

GOTNI Experience – by Isaac Goodness

I knew about Gotni since 2020 and I have been looking for an opportunity to be a part of there programs.

When the opportunity came, truth be told, I wasn’t ready but a friend who has experienced the training encouraged me to give it a try. I applied and out of fear, I told my friend that I’m just going to keep an open mind incase I don’t get it, I won’t feel sad.

But then, I saw “Congratulations you made it!!!!” I was so happy. For days now, I’ve not been able to get over the mind shifting experience I got from Gotni Leadership master class. I have never been under such pressure for growth before but I must confess that this particular one had a great impact on me. Thank you GOTNI leadership centre

GOTNI Experience – Ogechi Faustina Ezeukwu.

When we came for the Master class we were asked to write down our Objectives for attending the program and I did, didn’t give much thought to it, and took it business as per usual.

During the program, I decided to go with the flow and attend, participate, and leave but after the program, I realize and I must confess that I gained more than I thought I would. Questions I had concerning myself, my craft, and my niche were answered and some of the solutions, too, were given, as tips as well.

All my objectives and more were achieved.
I told a friend after the program that it was worth every naira and effort I spent and more.
I wouldn’t mind attending a master class every month.

Dr. Linus had a way of revitalizing the mind and creating a new face to everything, even things you didn’t know mattered and aiding you to prefer a solution to something that seemed so big.

All the courses combined to reopen my eyes to things I had overlooked, and things I discarded and brought up discoveries. All at once.

I would recommend the class to everyone. It is all you need and more, for leadership as well as self-development.

GOTNI Experience – Judith Yusuf Ibi

I got to know about GOTNI through a friend who participated in the Emerging Leaders Conference. Ever since, I kept on following the GOTNI Leadership Centre on almost all social media platforms to be able to know of opportunities and guess what? I got one.

The Scholarship Masterclass for 40 Researchers and Creative Writers.

I knew that it was TIME and as I tagged my 2023 ‘My Year of Becoming Intentional’, it seemed a dream but ‘HELLO! I got shortlisted for the Leadership Masterclass’ was all I kept telling my friends and all who cared or not to listen. My joy was beyond bounds.

Dr. Linus Okorie invested his heart and soul to teaching us the vitals we needed to know, and while he talked I imagined him talk to me directly (Believe me when I say I was in another realm… lols).

My spirit-man wants to do more for my society by becoming a leader in my small circle of friends and colleagues, and mentoring others too to get it right as Leaders.

I learnt Leadership towards the last quarter of 2022 but I’m more glad that I participated in the GOTNI Leadership Master class… What a way to start my 2023 if becoming!

My courage has been built to a zenith level, and I’m encouraged not to give up but to chase passion despite the challenges that are yet to come.

Dr. Linus Okorie made me realize that it’s okay to want to give up because, I can feel overwhelmed but instead of giving up why not I think about the lives of people that would change for good IF ONLY I DON’T GIVE UP. It’s more of others and less of me but it starts with me.

And as a leader, Communication is key and effective communication is vital tool to connect with the people I intend to impact because, only via communication either verbal or non- verbal will I be able to reach out to them.

Lastly, I learnt that leadership is all also about partnership. Man is not an island of himself hence, the need to relate with others and build strategic relationships.

To anyone who cares to know, when you are thinking Leadership, think GOTNI and that’s on period!

GOTNI Experience – Zagni Jude Joshua

I have been following GOTNI on Instagram for a while now,
I saw how amazing and impactful GOTNI was, then I decided to look for there link to register for a class.
Guess what??

When I got to the web page to register for a master class, I saw 500,000 I decided to check another one maybe I would see a lesser fee, then bum!!! I saw 1M, just like that? I just shouted ahh wahala oh!!
I kuku Gave up and logged out!.

Late last year a friend of my posted a flier about the Emerging leaders conference, as a sharp guy now I took the opportunity and registered and yes I got in, my first experience was mind blowing the feeling was Super Natural.

To be Honest I’m not a writer plus I don’t even love to write or research anything. Then I saw the opportunity for researchers & writers.I never even knew I would be picked because I had zero confidence in what I wrote 😂.

This was what’s I gained after giving this opportunity a shot.

-I made new friends that are writers and researchers a lot of them.! A total different cycle for the normal cycle I had.
-I started learning and developing love for writing.
-I got energized from day1 to day 2 to become even more than what I have become in the past few years of my life.
– I added more knowledge to what I initially had.
– some of the things that where mentioned during the class felt like it was directed to me and me alone.

It was such an amazing moment and time worth spending billions on!!

GOTNI Experience – Akolade Oluwatoba

Attending GOTNI cohort 9 is one of the best experiences I’ve enjoyed thus far.I was only congratulating the one of the cohorts 8 members and I decided to check the official page to see what was going on there.

Lo and behold, I saw that there was scholarship for Writers and Researchers. I clicked on the link, and I wrote my article… All within 30 minutes. I was hopeful though and I really looked forward to it.Receiving the goodnews that I have been selected warmed my heart.

Yes, I’ve been hearing of GOTNI since 2022 from the participants and their testimonials were so great. And here I was, about to experience the same thing.

The two days were mindblowing. It was an investment worth it. The amazing speakers, colleagues and staff of GOTNI.Dr. Linus Okorie has sown a seed that is germinating so well and I will definitely make it grow to a tree that bears amazing fruits.

Thank you so much for the experience and the investments in us.Shoutouts to my amazing group members. You guys are the real deal.

Long live Dr. Linus Okorie

Long live GOTNI

Long live Nigeria

Long live Africa.

Cheers!

GOTNI Experience – Grace Onyema

The Gotni Leadership Masterclass for Researchers and Creative Writers (Cohort 9) was a mind-blowing and life changing experience, one I’m yet to recover from.

At the Gotni Leadership Masterclass, I learned that Leaders are visionary intellectuals who are neither lazy nor of questionable character, but are people who observe, think, talk and take action. Also, integrity, purpose and vision are among the key focus in Leadership, when it comes to living an outstanding life and building a sustainable business.

I’ve been equipped and implantation has begun. I was opportune to put to practice what I learned from the effective communication session, just one day after the program. I kept thinking to myself, “how would Dr. Nkiru react in this situation and what would she suggest I do?” I am glad I banished the idea of assumption and handled the situation rightly, and I even had to lecture the other party on how to communicate more effectively.

The aspect of communication has been a major issue for me (both in my personal life and business), and I’m so happy to see that I’m handling things better and getting positive results daily.

Thank you Dr. Linus Okorie and Gotni Leadership Centre, for the opportunity to achieve a transformational life and becoming a phenomenal leader.

I look forward to coming back to the Gotni Leadership Centre for more advanced programs, and I strongly recommend you do so as well.

GOTNI Experience – Solomon Achema

Researchers and Creative Writers (Cohort 9) was a mind-blowing and life changing experience at GOTNI Leadership Centre for me.

A friend of mine actually told me about the opportunity telling me about GOTNI Leadership Centre, because he attended the last meeting so I was like wow okay I’ll give it a try, so when I did I never knew that I will be selected for the opportunity, So when I saw the email I was so nervous to an extent, i was so scared of checking it, so something said check the email, so i check the mail the first thing I saw was congratulation I shouted in my room I was like wow is this real, a course worth N500,000, i got in for free. I had to shutdown everything I was doing telling everybody that I will not be around for the next 1 week because, just so i can focus on learning. So i came with a focus mindset, to learn. Which was highly achieved at the end of the course.

I’m still yet to recover from the great experience at GOTNI Leadership Centre and implementation has begun. And I have been getting a lot of positive feedback in the aspect of communication and also looking at people in a positive way not negatively and also i learnt to observe, not to always be in a hurry to take action.

Thank you Dr. Linus Okorie and Gotni Leadership Centre, for the opportunity to achieve a transformational life and becoming a phenomenal leader.

GOTNI Experience – Joshua H. Adara

A beautiful way to start the year. The journey through GOTNI Leadership Centre Cohort 9 Researchers and Creative Writers Leadership Masterclass was truly intriguing.

.A week before the application deadline, I was working together with some top SYP SOLDIERS towards a financial Revival event in Lagos when I come across the masterclass program in this online space.

Although, this has been what I’ve always longed for each time I view the GOTNI Social media platform. We were asked to apply at just 40 persons will be shortlisted to get the scholarship.

.But, at the last hour for application entry, I tried as much as possible to put in for the program cause I’m seriously down

Guess What?

Lo and behold, “GRACE FOUND ME”

I’d forgotten that I applied for a masterclass, But, I checked my email, and surprisingly, I received a congratulatory message, I was among the 40 persons who were shortlisted for the Masterclass in Abuja. A Scholarship worth #500k sponsored by Dr. Linus Okorie. Even the only representative from Ogun State.

So amazingly, with God’s help, I attended the Masterclass with a focus to learn, unlearn and relearn.

We were well served for the two days of the Masterclass. It was a mind-shifted, mind-blowing, insightful, and helpful session.

I received practical principles that will change my lives forever which I was able to act upon even during the course of the program. Having to learn from our phenomenal facilitators that ‘’As a leader, we should learn to maintain your principle, even if you’ll die tomorrow. Leadership is functional, not positional”.

My mind has to be stretch out even when I’m tired.
On critical thinking, One of this powerful statements keeps me on the go ‘’If you reflect more enough and deep enough, you will solve problems”

Even on Effective communication which ponders on “People’s perception of you determines your reality”. Twas a never-ending time. I came, I learned, I conquered, and got Certified by Africa’s Prestigious Leadership Development Hub, GOTNI Leadership Centre. I’m now GOTNIFIED.

I am forever grateful to God.Humble thanks and gratitude, Dr. Linus Okorie, MFR- For shining your light to my becoming!

Thank you GOTNI Leadership Centre Guardians of the Nation International (GOTNI) for this great recourse. Now, stretched to do more

Thanks for the connection, honorable, and my group members. It can only get better. Congratulations.

THINK LEADERSHIP!
THINK GOTNI!!

GOTNI Experience – Greatdorlin Wisdom

The Gotni Leadership Masterclass for Researchers and Creative Writers (Cohort 9) was an incredible and transformative experience, one that I will never forget. I was fortunate enough to attend this program and I am still in awe of what I learned and experienced.

The most impactful aspect of the program was the emphasis on leadership as a visionary intellectual pursuit, rather than just a title or position. Integrity, purpose, and vision were all key focus areas, and I realized just how important these qualities are for leading a successful and fulfilling life and building a sustainable business.

One of the sessions that stood out for me was the one on critical thinking. This was a game-changer for me as I had never really considered the importance of this skill in my personal and professional life. The speaker was engaging and knowledgeable, and I left the session with a newfound appreciation for the power of critical thinking and how it can help me make better decisions, solve problems more effectively, and communicate more clearly.

Overall, I am grateful to Dr. Linus Okorie and the Gotni Leadership Centre for giving me the opportunity to grow as a leader and become a better version of myself. I am eager to return for more advanced programs in the future and I highly recommend that others do the same.

GOTNI Experience – Funsho Williams

I recently attended the GOTNI Leadership Course and it was truly an enlightening experience. The speakers were outstanding and their insights were mind-blowing, causing a complete shift in my mindset. The knowledge I gained from this course is invaluable and I am so grateful I was selected to participate.

The content was well-curated and presented in a way that was easy to understand and implement. Overall, I highly recommend the GOTNI Leadership Course to anyone looking to develop their leadership skills and grow as a person. It is worth every penny and I am glad I was able to be a part of it. I thank Dr. Linus Okorie for this wonderful opportunity and his eagerness to share from his tank of knowledge, may he never run dry.

GOTNI Experience – Jennifer Richard.

I’m still trying to recover from my experience at the GOTNI Leadership Centre Abuja.

You won’t fully understand what leadership means until you enrol into the GOTNI leadership center. It was an experience that changed my perspective about leadership and the role it plays in transforming not just individuals, but organizations and Africa at large.

It was a 2-day leadership Master class fully funded by Dr. Linus Okorie.
The sessions were intensive and life changing. The first thing that stood out for me was a quote by Mrs. Nkiru Linus Okorie, it says “People’s perception of you becomes your reality”. I used to think people’s perception of me was none of my business, and didn’t have any effect on my life and career, but I was wrong in a way.

It is people that will see your value and want to reckon with you,it is people that will recommend you,it is people that will pay you,and all these would not happen if they have a wrong perception about you.

The second thing that stood out for me was about communication, Mrs Nkiru Linus Okorie opened my eyes to little things about communication we take for granted and how it changes the results we get in life. She spoke intensively about the ambiguity of words and how it can make or mar you.

Without effective communication, you can’t reach your goals as an individual or an organization. Communication becomes effective when both parties understand the message that is being communicated.

I also had the privilege of meeting Gusi Tobby Lordwilliams,She’s simply amazing and phenomenal.

I want to say a very big thank you to Dr. Linus Okorie for the opportunity,God bless you sir and the entire GOTNI Team.

You all should get ready for me. My name will reach the ends of the earth.

GOTNI Experience – Kenneth Eze

The GOTNI Leadership Training Masterclass for Researchers and Creative Writers I recently attended was a genuinely life-changing event. Through the program, I was able to broaden my thoughts on leadership and acquire new abilities that would allow me lead with more effectiveness and influence. I was able to engage with other participants from all backgrounds during the interactive sessions, which also gave me a ton of fresh ideas and thoughts.
One of the most important lessons I took away from the masterclass was the significance of having a development mindset and being open to change. The instructors provided relevant examples from everyday life and helpful advice for developing an inclusive, creative, and change-oriented leadership style.

Overall, I highly recommend the GOTNI Leadership Training Masterclass for anybody wishing to improve their leadership abilities and widen their professional network. I will remember it as a life-changing experience for years to come.

GOTNI Experience – Victoria Olusesi

I was opportune to be among the shortlisted applicants for the Emerging Leaders Conference last year; during the conference, my mind was stretched out and was looking forward to another learning experience. After the conference, I wrote it down in my diary that I was going to pay for his training some days or volunteer for any program just to learn under him.

I applied for the Media Scholarship but was not given. I was sad and heartbroken but later encouraged myself to move on. Not too long I saw another application for researchers and creative writers on Lord T’s page. I quickly jumped on it; who wants to lose another opportunity.

Gathered all the necessary information and applied. But this time around, I was extra careful not to make another mistake. Did all the required thing they asked us to do and prayed about it.

On the 19th of January 27, 2023, I received a letter from them that I made it into GOTNI. I was so happy, and submitted all the necessary information they asked for. And was fully ready for the Scholarship class.

The leadership masterclass got ripples of ideas floating through my head and I’m yet to recover from the experience.

What do you do when you get access to certain set of people? When you get the contact of great men? Some people ask for money; some send random messages, some show off and some sleep on it. Access to greatness is opportunity to ‘’KNOW and DO’’- To ask the How, What, Where, When, Who, and lots more ~Dr Linus Okorie

Those two days were the best days of last month and I’m glad I had to start my year with it.

I had a transformational experience and can’t get over the incredible young professionals that I met.

GOTNI Experience – Mumtaz Paramole

Let me take a moment to share my incredible experience at the GOTNI Leadership Centre. I recently had the opportunity to attend this amazing program, and I have to say, it was one of the most valuable experiences of my life.

From the first session, I was impressed by the level of expertise and passion that the coaches brought to the table. I learned the essentials of being a 21st Century Leader, and the importance of critical thinking and effective communication. The sessions were interactive, thought-provoking and very enlightening.

One of the highlights of my time at GOTNI was the opportunity to meet individuals from different social-political backgrounds. We bonded over our shared experience, and I was able to learn so much from my peers. I was truly amazed by the diversity of perspectives and experiences in the room, and I believe that this helped to deepen my understanding of leadership.

I would like to express my gratitude to the GOTNI Leadership Centre for providing me with this opportunity. I feel so grateful to have had the chance to participate in such a transformative program, and I will continue to utilize all I learned till eternity.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend the GOTNI Leadership Centre to anyone looking to develop their leadership skills and abilities. The program was invaluable, and I enjoyed every session. Thank you again for this incredible experience.

GOTNI Experience – Moses

Dated 27th of September 2022, I received a link from my Mentor to apply for a scholarship opportunity sponsored by GOTNI Leadership Centre for entrepreneurs.

I never took it serious, though I was shortlisted but didn’t make it to the final stage.

I took it upon myself to know more about them. Getting to the internet, the story was a different one. I was overwhelmed by the information that was displayed on the screen.

What next? This was the exact question that came to me immediately. On that day, I kicked off the journey of making it to GOTNI LEADERSHIP CENTRE.

I became a consistent visitor to their website and social media handles, looking for opportunities. I was lucky to grab one; EMERGING LEADERS CONFERENCE 2022.

It was really a great experience volunteering with GOTNI.

When I saw the LEADERSHIP MASTERCLASS SCHOLARSHIP FOR RESEARCHERS AND WRITERS, I gave all my best to ensuring I never missed the opportunity.

Waking up one faithful day morning and seeing congratulation email from GOTNI Leadership Centre cleared all my worries away.

Making to the scholarship is a dream come through, I have been in anticipation of an opportunity to sit under the sound of Dr. Linus Okorie. Thank God I made it

Arriving at the venue was another transition experience. The atmosphere was orchestrated in the nature that an encounter is enough to set one ablaze and activated.

My mind has been shifted to another dimension and level. I got transformed and challenged to do more, not minding what and how the environment tend to create an impact.

Thank you Dr Linus Okorie for this wonderful opportunity. I really enjoyed my time and entrance to the GOTNI LEADERSHIP CENTRE cathedral.

GOTNI Experience – Joshua

I only heard about GOTNI in January from a friend, and was a bit interested since it was about leadership. Everything changed when I discovered Dr. Linus Okorie was the main speaker at the training.

From being a little interested, it became a burning desire and then thankfully I was accepted into the Cohort 9 on scholarship.

The training is one the best I have ever attended thus far in my little journey through life, Mrs Nkiru Okorie’s session was one of my best session.

I’m truly grateful to Dr. Linus Okorie and his team for the opportunity and I look forward to registering for the advanced leadership class soon.

I met great minds also, golden hearts and beautiful faces. Hope to keep them close for life!

God bless GOTNI
