Nigeria, a land of dream, where nights glow, children laugh at night and the sound of guns were that of an hunter’s. Nigeria, the land we were, our motherland that has no ‘god’ over it, she is a goddess on its own, a waterfall where great minds are born. Nigeria, you have come over age and yet still in age, of darkness; of melancholic people; of unproductive youths; of educational illiterates; of pounding fathers. Nigeria we cry for thee, when shall thou be great again. Even if you die while we are in alive, we will get the penny of a beggar, the tears of a mermaid and a drop from the fountain of youth and bring you back to life for we have not given up on you. Nigeria, you are still our love, our sunset and our nightfall, please don’t sleep while your children wallow in darkness.
