University of Toronto – MasterCard Foundation Scholarship (Fully-funded)

Introduction

Sub-Saharan African nationals have access to a relevant university education through the University of Toronto’s Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, a comprehensive scholarship program.

Scholarship Benefits

Scholars in the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Toronto are provided with complete financial aid for the duration of their graduate study. This covers the cost of traveling to Canada (including passport and visa application fees), as well as other costs such as lodging, food, health insurance, a laptop, study materials, and tuition.

Areas of Study

For the 2025-2026 academic year, we will accept scholarship applications for one of the following programs:

  • Master of Occupational and Environmental Health
  • Master of Social and Behavioural Health Sciences
  • Master of Health Administration
  • Master of Financial Insurance
  • Master of Engineering (Biomedical)
  • Master of Biotechnology (for May 2026 start)

African Health Collaborative

The University of Toronto is working in partnership with eight of the top African universities to assist them in their endeavors to educate and equip the next generation of professionals for the important work that the expanding African health sectors will require, with a focus on jobs for women.
