Cross River State Government Commends NYSC State coordinator for Giant Strides

Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade has commended NYSC Cross State for being resilient in maintaining impressive socio-economic synergy between the State Government and the scheme.

Governor Ayade made the expression yesterday while addressing the 2019 Batch “C” Stream II Corps Members during the close of Orientation Course held at the state’s NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Obubra.
He acknowledged the efforts of the State Coordinator, Mr. Eddy Megwa for being a motivation and inspiration to the Corps Members.

He added that his impact has been felt by the State Government saying, “Evidence of the achievements of Corps Members through Community Development Service projects abounds in almost every community in Cross River State. I call on you to also look at ways of leaving your imprints in the annals of this great State.

The Governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Mrs. MaryJane Ebri said the skilled and available manpower of Corps Members remains very invaluable to the Administration.
He also disclosed the state Government’s intention to maximally utilize the abundant human capital deposited in the NYSC for the much-desired development of the state.

Ayade further urged the Corps Members to take their duties seriously in line with the oath of allegiance they swore during their swearing in ceremony.

Earlier, State Coordinator, Eddy Megwa expressed satisfaction at the successes recorded during the Orientation exercise. He appreciated the Collaborating agencies and specifically, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for releasing a utility van for use by the NYSC throughout Orientation programme.

He also encouraged Corps Members to continue in the spirit of sportsmanship and service to the nation throughout their service and beyond.

The Coordinator reminded the state Governor of the deplorable condition of Camp facilities and the urgency for immediate renovation for the comfort of thousands of Nigerian youths who are deployed to the state at every successive Orientation Course.
